How to Create and Edit Event Types in Connect
Manage Your Church’s Schedule with Ease
If your church hosts multiple services or events, you can customize and manage event types inside Connect. This allows visitors to schedule a Plan a Visit, meetings with pastors, or special services.
1. Access Event Settings
- Log into your Connect Dashboard.
- Click Settings → Manage Event Types.
- OR go to Customize Tools → Schedule Meeting Tool → Edit Event Types.
2. Create a New Event Type
- Click “+ New Event Type” (top right).
- Enter an event name (e.g., Saturday Night Service, Worship Night, Prayer Meeting).
- Click Save.
3. Customize Event Settings
Click on an event to adjust:
- Title & Description – Update event details for visitors.
- Time Zone & Hours – Set the event’s schedule (e.g., Sundays at 10:30 AM).
- Appointments per Time Slot –
- Choose unlimited (e.g., Sunday Service).
- Choose one per slot (e.g., Pastor’s Meeting).
- Duration – Set event length (e.g., 60 minutes).
- Form Fields – Ask for name, email, phone, and additional info (e.g., Are you bringing kids?).
4. Google Calendar Integration
- Visitor Calendar Event – Allows attendees to add the event to their Google Calendar.
- Church Calendar Sync – If your church uses Google for Nonprofits, sync Connect with your Google Calendar for easy event tracking.
5. Automated Email Confirmation
✅ Turn on Confirmation Email to send an automatic response.
📧 Customize the email subject and message.
📅 Use [Meeting Time] to insert event details dynamically.
Example:
"Thanks for planning a visit! We’ll see you at [Meeting Time]. Meet us at the Connection Center when you arrive!"
6. Save & Assign Events
✔ Click Save to apply your changes.
✔ Go to Customize Tools → Meeting Scheduler to select the event type for scheduling.
