How to create Custom Taxonomies in Sermons?
Define unique categories for organizing sermons
1. Settings - Search Filters allows you to create new taxonomies for the Sermons extension. Taxonomies help organize content, making it easier for visitors to filter and browse related Sermons.
Click the Search Filters tab
2. Sermon Series taxonomy is default and can not be deleted. Only newly created taxonomies can be deleted.
Click the pencil icon to edit a taxonomy. If needed, click the bin icon to delete it
3. You can edit the Display Name and Website Page URL, however, you can not edit the Type and System Name for the created taxonomies
Display Name in Singular - This is how this taxonomy will be displayed in Settings - Search Filters tab and in Sermons Post when assigning a category or tag of the taxonomy.
Display Name in Plural - is how a taxonomy will be displayed as a new template page in Sermons - Templates.
Website Page URL - allows you to edit the URL of the taxonomy.
4. Click "Add" to create a new taxonomy
5. Select from the dropdown if you need the taxonomy to be applied One per Post (will be a category taxonomy) or Multiple per Post (will be a tag taxonomy)
6. Specify Display Name in Singular and Plural and click "Next"
7. Check if System Name in Singular and Plural is correct. The name is mostly used in website builder for internal links. The end user will not see the name.
Click "Apply" to confirm the changes and add the taxonomy
8. After it is created, you can see that you now have a new tab called "Seasons" where you can create Seasons tags.
Please note that in case you want to delete this new taxonomy, make sure that you delete any tags you created in it first, and once the taxonomy is empty, go to
Settings - Search Filters and click the bin icon to delete it
9. Go back to Sermon posts
10. Select the required Sermons Post to apply Seasons tags
11. Select from the dropdown the required tag from the Seasons taxonomy
12. Click "Save" to confirm the changes
