How to Set Your Work Hours in Connect

Control When Your Tools Are Available Based on Your Church’s Schedule

 

Setting Work Hours in your Connect panel allows you to control which tools (like live chat, call requests, and meeting scheduling) appear at specific times. This prevents visitors from engaging with tools when no one is available to respond, ensuring a seamless experience.


1. Access Work Hours Settings

Step 1: Open the Settings Panel

  1. Log in to your Connect Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to SettingsPanel SettingsSet Your Hours.

💡 Tip: Defining your work hours ensures visitors only see tools when your team is available to respond.


2. Setting Your Weekly Work Hours

Step 2: Customize Work Hours for Each Day

For each day of the week, choose:
Always Available (for tools that should be visible 24/7, like FAQs or email capture)
Specific Hours (set open & close times – ideal for live chat, call requests, or meeting scheduling)
Never Available (hide tools entirely on certain days, like weekends or holidays)

Example: Standard Church Office Hours

Sunday Specific Hours 10:00 AM 2:00 PM
Monday Specific Hours 8:00 AM 3:00 PM
Tuesday Specific Hours 8:00 AM 3:00 PM
Wednesday Specific Hours 8:00 AM 3:00 PM
Thursday Specific Hours 8:00 AM 3:00 PM
Friday Never Available
Saturday Never Available

💡 Tip: If your team takes a lunch break, use the Breaks feature to temporarily pause tool availability.


3. Adding Break Times (Optional)

Step 3: Set Break Periods

  1. Click "Add Break Time".
  2. Select the start & end times for the break.
  3. Click Save.

✅ Example: If your office is closed from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM for lunch, visitors won’t see tools like live chat during this break.

💡 Tip: Use break times to prevent missed responses during staff meetings or lunch breaks.


4. Assigning Work Hours to Specific Tools

Step 4: Control When Individual Tools Are Visible

Once your Work Hours are set, you can apply them to tools:

  1. Navigate to Customize Tools.
  2. Click on a tool (e.g., Live Chat or Call Request).
  3. Under Visibility, choose:
    Always Available (for tools like FAQs or email capture)
    Working Hours Only (recommended for live chat, call requests, and meeting scheduling)
    After Hours Only (if you want tools like email capture to appear only when staff is unavailable)
  4. Click Save.

💡 Tip: If a tool is set to Working Hours Only, it will automatically disappear when your office is closed.


5. Save Your Changes & Test

Step 5: Finalize & Preview

  1. Click Save to apply changes.
  2. Refresh your website and confirm: ✅ The right tools appear only during work hours.
    ✅ Tools disappear when offices are closed or on break.
