What Extensions are available?

Learn briefly about the Blog, Small Groups, Events, and Sermons extensions

1. There are four extensions in our website builder - Blog, Events, Small Groups, and Sermons. The purpose of each extension is as follows:

  • Blog: For posting articles or news updates.
  • Small Groups: For managing community or interest-based groups.
  • Events: For promoting upcoming events.
  • Sermons: For organizing and presenting sermon content.

2. All extensions share a similar structure which consists of: Posts, Templates, Categories, Tags, Settings

Posts - the core content of each extension, add or edit individual posts. Customize details like title, description, and images.

Templates - control the visual appearance of the extension, ensuring posts are displayed consistently across your website. Adjust colors, fonts, and layouts to match your website’s design.

For example:
Main Page Templates: Layout for listing all posts (e.g., Blog homepage, Events list).
Post Templates: Layout for individual posts (e.g., a single blog article or sermon).

Categories - organize posts into groups to make navigation easier for users.

For example:
Small Groups: “Bible Study,” “Youth Groups,” “Support Groups.”
Events: “Workshops,” “Worship Services,” or “Conferences.”

Tags - provide another layer of organization, acting like keywords for posts.

For example:
Tags for a blog post: Faith, Family, Inspiration.
Tags for an event: Youth, Conference, Worship.

Settings - enable comments for extensions via the Disqus plugin, set the language of the Disqus comments, specify the date format of the posts, add new taxonomies (categories or tags) for posts, connect Google Calendar in Small Groups and Events

3. The extensions also have identical widgets. You can see in the example that Small Groups and Events both have a Tag List widget. All widgets have a black label next to their name indicating the extension they belong to.
